Dear Professor Wolcott,

Entering this course, I felt as though my writing skills were insignificant and infantile. I postponed taking this course in my first year because I was terrified of the course load and difficulty because English is my weak subject. After completing the course, I feel more well-rounded and appreciative of the University of Central Florida's decision to make this class a requirement. I've learned a variety of new techniques and can now approach things in a tactful manner. I am now more knowledgeable about my personal study habits through the Writing Self-Study, and through this I am more prepared to take future classes, both in my undergraduate career as well as graduate studies. I am now able to recognize ethos, pathos, and logos in different aspects of life such as writing, advertising, or even media. I am also aware of the different predetermined standards that are present to enter a new community. Rather than feeling like a lone soldier facing the rival’s army, I now feel like a knight in armor headed to battle.

Thank you so much,

- Gianna Falise
